| Several thousand years ago when mankind began, there was the first man called Adam, created from dust in the image of God. God took man and gave him dominion of all of the works of His Hands, the birds of the sky, the oceans inhabitants, and all of the creatures of the earth. By the Spirit of the Lord, Adam lived and named all of the animals. God placed man in His Garden, called Eden. God told Adam to live and eat of the Garden. God placed the Tree of Life in the middle of the Garden of Eden and gave Adam the right to eat of it and live eternally; however, God placed the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the middle of Eden as well and gave Adam strict instructions that Adam was forbidden to eat of this Tree of Knowledge and if Adam ate of this tree, he would surely die.
God, in His Wisdom, looked for a suitable helper for man but having found none, he put Adam to sleep and took a rib from him and closed up the wound; and made Adam's helpmate.
Adam, upon seeing her, called her "woman", for she came from his side. They had fellowship with God. Adam and his woman walked with God in the Garden of Eden in cool of the days. These were the eternal times as man walked with God in obedience and communion, being led, guided, and controlled by the Holy Spirit.
God, in His Wisdom, wanted man to have the free choice to walk with God. God wanted man to always elect to walk with God, by his free will; and man did so not knowing good nor evil of any form.
Then, in eternity, the woman met with the Serpent in the Garden of Eden and talked with him and listened to what he said. She believed the lie that if she ate of the Tree of Knowledge she would become like God. Adam and the woman ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam disobeyed God. He thought independent of the Spirit of God.
When they ate, their eyes were opened and the Spirit of God departed from them and they became mortal beings and began dying. The spirit of death came over them and time began keeping count against
the lives.
God spoke to Adam and the woman and drove them from the Garden and placed a flaming Sword at the entrance to guard against man entering in the Garden. Man became an enemy of Heaven, a
disobedient creation of God, by his own election. Man was assigned the same punishment as the disobedient angels who was thrown from Heaven to the earth.
Man, in his glorious state with God, by his election to disobey and rebel against the Word of God, became the servant of the onehe listened to, the Serpent. Man became the very child of the devil in his nature.
Man suffered the penalty of having his lifeblood cursed with death, diseases, and plagues. And more important, he took on the sonship of the devil in his character and nature. Finally, man would pass on this nature for all generations. Adam called the woman, "Eve" in this fallen state.
That rebellion, called sin (sin being defined as any act not led, guided or controlled by the Spirit of God), brought you, all mankind, to what is called the Fallen State that we exist in today. All that we
are, we do, and we see is the product of that rebellion. Through one man, Adam, we have all sinned before God, the sin unto death. Each person born on earth is born with this evil in his or her heart. Even the very best person is sinful for he or she knows not the Christ.
God loved us so much that he put a Plan, a Salvation, a Redemption into motion to save every person, regardless who he or she was or what he or she did, that would believe His Plan. So great was the
sin that man could not be redeemed from it, except by a great price, greater than anything on Earth including man. The price would have to be a life of such great value that Heaven would honor the sacrifice. God chose His Only Begotten Son, Jesus of Nazareth, to be that sacrifice. Jesus, though being equal with His Father, did not consider equality as something to be grasped, but became obedience to becoming like mortal man. He took on the form of humility and made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness. He became the Faithful Witness, while at the same time he became the Lamb of God to be sacrificed.
His obedience was so great that he became obedient unto death - death on the cross! He took all the sins of the world upon Him when He died on the Cross, yet He was blameless, without sin. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
God put His plan into motion, taking several thousand years to bring about. He spoke to His Prophets about the coming of His Servant over the thousand of years and foretold of who He was, where He would come from, how He would come into the world, what He would do in the world, how He would die, and how He would be raised back up from the dead. So whoever came claiming that he was the Redeemer, he would have to fulfill all the prophecies about the Son. And by the fulfillment, we would know that He is the Christ.
Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ. He fulfilled all prophecies concerning Himself. He healed the sick, the blind saw, the lame walked, demons obeyed him, the dead was raised, and He preached Good News to the poor. Then, the greatest proof, He was raised from the dead after three days, according to scripture exactly. He is the Way, the Gate, the Door, the Truth, the Light, the Resurrection and Life.
God so loved the world, he gave His Only Begotten Son, that whoever would believe in Him, they would have everlasting life. But whoever would not believe, they would remain condemned. He loved the
world so much that He gave His Son, but He loves His Son so much He demands every person to go through His Son to come to Him.
You have a choice now that you have heard the reason for Christianity. To choose Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, and enter into an eternal relationship with God through Jesus, or remain condemned.
To choose Jesus, the Spirit of God must quicken you that what is spoken is true, that God raised Jesus from the dead and you are willing to confess and make him Lord of your life. Why Christianity? So
that you may redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ. HE IS THE ONLY WAY!
You may want to pray... if so, a prayer such as this will do if spoken from your heart:
"Heavenly Father, you have brought me to your precious Son, Jesus Christ. I have not come but by your drawing me. I am a sinner by birth of natural descent. Now, I believe in my heart that you raised
Jesus from the dead, and I confess that Jesus is Lord with my mouth. I ask you and Him to come into my heart this moment and bring eternal life to me, washing away my sins by His Blood that was shed for me. I thank you for bringing about me the born again process by my faith you have given me in Christ Jesus. I thank you, Father, in the Name of Jesus. Amen."
Go confess your new found Salvation to someone and believe that you are now a child of God your Father. Go about your life, making Jesus the habit of your life moment by moment. Trust Him completely. Once again, have fellowship with God, being led, guided, and controlled by the Holy Spirit. |
